TED Global Fellow

For over a decade, Ugandan native Yasin Kakande lived and worked in the Middle East before being forced to leave. Kakande went undercover to write his autobiographical novel The Ambitious Struggle which uncovered the plight and human rights abuses of migrant workers in the UAE. For Kakande, being selected as a TED Fellow amplifies his voice, communicating to a global audience. (Meet the 10 African trailblazers on the TEDGlobal 2017 list, CNN)
